Well, the winter break certainly didn`t seem to have helped Chipstead. Having played great attacking rugby for the first half of the season, everything seemd to have been forgotten for this match.

Chips started well with lineout and scrum working really well and should have scored first try with a break by Ed Bush from a lineout in our half that went out to Alex Jelley who broke through the defence. Unfortunately he tried to beat one too many players and was forced to pass out of the tackle instead of just before, which resulted in a forward pass to the two players in the clear outside him.

OR`s scored soon after this and Chipstead never really recovered conceding several more tries in the half, with just the occasional foray into the OR`s half, notably twice by Alex Jones on the wing.

In the second half, OR`s eased off a bit and Chips spent long periods in the opposition half, but Reigate defended well and Chips could never quite break through, with many moves ending in a knock on.

Let`s hope that is the bad one out of the way for the season. Next week at home against KCS.

All the players should think about their game and how they can improve on what they did today and put it right next week.
